I woke up late today so I didn’t have breakfast, then I had to rush to class and I only had time to grab bottled water, and right after class I had to head to the gym so I had like no time for food at all. I got home from the gym around 5-ish so I just had an early dinner. I know thats really bad, I should’ve been eating more throughout the day, but thats just how some days go.
Day Sixteen Diet:
(12) strawberries x 4 calories each
(4) brownie bites x 58 calories each
(1) big plate of my mama’s chicken biryani! x 450 calories

8 glasses of water
Day Sixteen Exercise:
Level: Moderate
Total = 1.5 hours at the gym
So today was my first day working with a personal trainer. Instead of my usual routine of getting on the elliptical for 20-30 minutes we instead did 5 minutes of intervals- I was sweating three minutes into it, where as it usually takes me about 5 minutes or so to work up a sweat when I’m just on a steady pace.
We then did the chest fly 3 sets of 15. Leg press, this time using the machine where you lie down with the free weights instead of the seated one, I was surprised to find that I was having difficulty with 45 pounds when I did the leg press lying down, where as I do 180 pounds when seated. I suppose it wasn’t exactly 45 pounds because there is also the weight of the machine, but still, my legs were quivering. I guess my legs aren’t as strong as I thought they were. We also worked on triceps, and finished off with some ab work. After we finished I went back and did some more cardio, 12 minutes of intervals this time, and then 5 minutes of cool down, it said I burned a total of 180 calories, not bad. My next session is on Monday, we’ll see how that goes.

Update on how I feel:
I’d like to bring up something that I’m dreading- I’m leaving tomorrow morning with my mom for a seminar and I won’t be back until Sunday- that’s three full days of no gym and very limited availability of healthy food. I also probably will not have internet access while I’m gone and will not be able to update, so I’ll just write down what I’m eating/doing and then update all at once for Fri-Sunday when I get back. I hope these three days don’t let all my hard work go down the drain.
Also I was talking to a friend today about the previous issue I mentioned on Day Fifteen, about how I gained weight but look slimmer. My friend said that its probably because I gained muscle, that’s what my trainer said as well. It’s funny that I knew that muscle weighed more than fat, it just never occurred to me that I had gained muscle. Anyway, wish me luck for the weekend Tumblr’s!

Dear Tumblr’s— I don’t know how I feel about today, it’s bitter sweet. It was good because I finally went back to the gym (I hadn’t been there since Day Nine when I hurt myself). I did my second weigh in today, I should’ve done it yesterday but I didn’t go to the gym. My weigh in… in short, devastated me. I don’t know how, but I somehow gained back the weight I had lost in week one, and then some. I gained 3 pounds. I now weigh more than I did when I started working out 2 weeks and one day ago. I have no freaking idea what on earth is going on. The crazy thing is that I look slimmer. My face looks slimmer, my back is slimmer, my legs are slimmer and looking slightly more toned, my jeans are slightly loose, but the scale says I gained 3 pounds. I’m upset. I feel like all my hard work isn’t paying off. I’m confused and sad.
I channeled todays energy into cardio. I did an hour on the elliptical and burned 570 calories, I was drenched in sweat. It’s not that I hit a plateau or anything, I still have a lot of fat to lose. I just don’t know whats going on =[ .
Day Fifteen Diet:
(1) cup spaghetti with meat sauce
(1) cup cooked rice
(1/2) cup cooked lentils
(2) shami kababs

Day Fifteen Exercise:
Level: Heavy
Total = 2 hours at the gym
7 minutes stretching
1 hour on the elliptical, 570 calories burned (or so it says).
Leg press, 4 sets of 8- I had better form this time around and I went down on the weight to 180, my back doesn’t hurt at all.
Lat pull down - 4 sets of 10
Calf extension - 3 sets of 10 (80 lbs)
Seated row - 4 sets of 8
Chest press - 3 sets of 8
I didn’t have time to do crunches at the gym so I did a 10 min ab video when I went home. I actually really like these because it changes up the routine and also really works out my obliques, mine are still kinda sore from yesterdays ab workout. I do less but theres a better burn.
I’m interested in feedback if you guys have any, I’m at a loss. What am I doing wrong?
Getting back on my feet again. Not caring about anything has definitely helped. Seriously.

Wasn’t able to make it to the gym because I had to babysit last minute, so I took advantage of my TV (Thank You FIOS!) There are prerecorded workouts on Fios so I took advantage of those, I did two ten minute workouts, one specifically geared towards core/abs.
Today should’ve been my second weigh in but I don’t have a scale at home, and I didn’t go to the gym today so I’ll just have to weigh myself when I go to the gym tomorrow. I’m not really expecting anything- just look at the way I’m eating! 100 calorie dinner rolls? Chocolate ice cream? Ugh.
